National Airline Traffic Up 1.2 Percent

WASHINGTON (Release) The U.S. Department of Transportation reported Thursday that between international and domestic, U.S. airlines carried 62.0 million passengers during October 2013, up 1.2% from 2012. There were 54.6 million domestic and 7.4 million international passengers

BTS, a part of the Department’s Research and Innovative Technology Administration, reported that U.S. airlines carried 0.6 percent more passengers during the first 10 months of 2013 than 2012.

Top Airlines In October:
Delta Air Lines carried more passengers than any other U.S. airline.
Southwest Airlines carried the most domestic passengers.
United Airlines carried the most international passengers.
The top 10 U.S. airlines in terms of number of passengers carried 80.6 percent of passengers, up from 80.5 percent carried by the U.S. airlines that were in the top 10 in October 2012.
