TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Kansas lawmakers have begun weighing efforts to roll back the state's decades-old limits on corporate involvement in farming.
The senate natural resources committee heard testimony Friday from Governor Sam Brownback's administration. They think out-of-state ownership of farms will create jobs and help the state's economy.
The president of the Kansas Pork Administration said the existing laws are causing corporations to avoid Kansas because they must get approval to set up swine and dairy operations.
Lawmakers on both sides are continuing to work on a decision.
