Prairie Village, Kan. (KMBC) -- According to KMBC-TV in Kansas City, Councilman David Morrison an ethics complaint was filed against him for reportedly allowing a homeless man to stay at the Prairie Village City Hall.
Homeless man Kelley Malone, 36, who has a history of drug problems, is friends with Councilman Morrison. According to records, Malone and Morrison went into the City Hall together on October 27th, and Malone stayed by himself. Morrison was seen there with Malone throughout the next several days. Malone was able to get into areas of the building by using Morrison's pass code.
The city said that while Malone was in the building he had access to records and property, but no private records.
Malone claimed he was in fear for his life, his reason for being in City Hall alone.
The City Council has reviewed the incident and firing Morrison is possible, following the ethics complaint. They will review it again in two weeks, but in a statement released to KMBC 9 News, Morrison said he is not going to resign.
