TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Kansans who owned Toyotas or Lexuses between 2009 and 2010 may be eligible for financial compensation.
Kansas and 28 other states reached an agreement with the company to resolve allegations that it misrepresented safety issues regarding unintended acceleration on certain vehicles.
The settlement requires the company to reimburse consumers who had to pay out-of-pocket expenses for services like rental cars or towing because of the issues.
Customers seeking a refund should call Toyota at 1-800-331-4331 or Lexus at 1-800-255-3987. They can also contact the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division at www.ag.ks.gov.
