(CNN) – Mariela Castro, the daughter of Cuban President Raul Castro, said she would like President Barack Obama to win a second term as president.
"As a citizen of the world, I would like him to win," Castro told CNN's Christiane Amanpour in an interview set to air Monday. "Seeing the candidates, I prefer Obama."
Castro, an LGBT rights activist in Cuba and the niece of former president Fidel Castro, said she believes Obama to be a "fair man," adding that he needs increased support.
"If Obama counted on the full support of the American people, then we can normalize the relationships; we can have better relations than what we had under President Carter," Castro said.
