TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A tweet from the Associated Press reporting explosions at the White House Tuesday caused the DOW to briefly drop more than 100 points.
The post on Twittert, quickly discredited by AP as 'bogus' read,"Breaking: Two Explosions in the White House and Barack Obama is injured."
AP's Twitter account was quickly disabled but not before the financial markets reacted to the false information. The DOW dropped more than 100 points, but quickly bounced back once the information was discredited.
AP was working to fix the issue associated with its social media account Tuesday.
