GREENVILLE, N.C. Police in Greenville say a man armed with a shotgun wounded one person at a law firm before crossing a busy street and entering a Wal-Mart, where three more people were shot and wounded.

Greenville Police Chief Hassan Aden said the suspect was shot and wounded by officers late Friday morning.

Authorities say a gunman shot one person at the law firm across the street from the Wal-Mart, then crossed five lanes of traffic and entered the store, where they say three more people were shot.

Officers located the suspect outside the store and shot him near the entrance.

The conditions of the shooting victims weren't known Friday afternoon.

Witnesses tol CBS affiliate WNCT reports that the shooting incident began just before noon at the Kellum Law Firm on Greenville Blvd.

Witnesses told a WNCT photographer that a man with a rifle, wearing a bulletproof vest, walked up and shot someone hiding behind a car.

A short time later, emergency crews were dispatched to the side entrance of Wal-Mart near Hooker Road where a second shooting victim was discovered outside. He was described as an older white male.
