(AP) A police official says that between 14 and 15 men have been killed in a pre-dawn shootout between rival gangs in the Mexican border city of Tijuana.
An official speaking on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to talk on the record says the running gun battle took place on one of the city's main boulevards.
He says the battle early Saturday was between two groups of drug traffickers who may belong to the same cartel, and appeared to be a settling of scores.
The gunmen opened fire on each other from vehicles, and photographs showed assault rifles and dead or wounded men on the streets.
