ST. CLAIR, Mo. (AP) _ An eastern Missouri man is dead and his son is jailed after a shooting at the father's home.
Police say 44-year-old Kevin Hunt was killed with a stolen shotgun Monday afternoon in the Franklin County town of St. Clair. A woman called 911 to report that her husband had been shot and gave a description of the suspect's vehicle as it sped away.
A highway patrol trooper who saw the vehicle was able to get the driver to stop and take him into custody without incident.
Investigators say the suspect been to his parents' home earlier Monday and was asked to leave. Authorities say that the son later went to a neighbor's house, stole a shotgun and returned to his parents' home where his his father was shot.
Police say the son is in custody on suspicion of first-degree murder.
