WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ The 12-day search for a Wichita woman who disappeared from her home earlier this month apparently ended this weekend when a body was found near her home.
Wichita police said they could not confirm that the body was that of 49-year-old Reena Mullick. But Sgt. Brad Agnew said officers were working on the assumption that it was.
An autopsy will be conducted tomorrow to identify the body and determine a cause of death.
Mullick was reported missing April 8 by her husband, Deepak Mullick. Police said that they did not suspect foul play.
Divers searched the pond behind the Mullicks' home April 11 but were unable to find any trace of a body. Dispatchers said the body was spotted shortly after 2 p.m. yesterday by some children who were walking near the pond.
