Two Die When Semi Runs Off Highway in Missouri

MEXICO, Mo. (AP) _ Two men are dead following a crash involving a semi in eastern Boone County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says the semi was eastbound on Interstate 70 at 4:10 yesterday afternoon when the vehicle left the road, went down an embankment and struck a tree.

Boone County firefighters say the semi was partially wrapped around the tree and partially under water. They say it took 35 minutes to remove the driver, identified as 48-year-old Clarence R. McMurray of St. Helens, Oregon. He suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead soon after being removed from the wreck.

A passenger, identified as 55-year-old Ronald G. Bramon of Goshen, Ohio, was also killed.
