Alaska governor gives birth to 5th child, a boy named Trig

Trig Palin was born at 6:30 a.m. Friday and weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces. A news release from the governor's office says she and the baby are doing well and resting comfortably.

The governor went into labor Thursday while in Texas at an energy conference. She was able to travel back to Alaska in time to deliver her baby.

Trig is the fifth child and second son for Palin her husband, Todd.
