BERLIN (AP) -- Firefighters say a passenger jet has skidded off the runway at an airport in Germany. None of the 27 people aboard were reported injured.
The Cirrus Airlines plane slammed into a protective barrier, ripping off part of a wing and losing an engine, firefighters said. Twenty-four passengers and three crew members were aboard Wednesday's flight from Berlin to Mannheim.
The German aviation authority said the plane apparently waited too long to touch down and then had to brake heavily.
