TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Shawnee County officials came together Thursday to discuss putting the recently approved 2014 budget into action.
Department heads met for a debriefing of the budget process Thursday.
Commission chair Shelly Buhler says with most departments seeing cuts, it was a good way to explain how they came up with next year's budget.
"The impacts of the 2014 budget are going to be felt by some departments more than others and so we have really great department heads who are committed but it's tough then when you're faced to make these decisions," said Buhler.
Buhler says she hopes agencies keep in mind the services they provide and how they affect others.
