WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Wichita's new airport terminal is on schedule to open next spring.
Airport officials say construction began on the new building in October 2012 and the building is three-fourths complete.
Jim Armour, the terminal's resident engineer, told members of the Wichita Airport Authority this week that the site is expected to be finished by March 31, 2015.
The Wichita Eagle reports the airport's name will also then change from Wichita Mid-Continent Airport to the Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport.
When the new terminal opens, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and Southwest will each lease two gates, and Allegiant Airlines will lease one.
An additional three gates will give the airport room to grow.
