Ranks Kansas Economy


TOPEKA, Kan. (BusinessInsider) The online news source, BusinessInsider has looked at how the country is doing and ranks the Kansas economy right in the middle.

By combining several economic factors, their snapshot indicates that Kansas is right about smack dab in the middle as the 28th best economy.

Missouri ranks 42nd with a .8 increase in GDP.
Nebraska ranks 5 places below Kansas at 33rd.
Kansas sits at 28 with a 1.9% increase in GPD
Texas and Colorado come in at the top at number 3 and 1.

The rankings were based on Gross Domestic Product (GDP), growth in 2013:
Working Age Population, percent change from 2012 to 2013:
Unemployment Rate, change from June 2013 to June 2014:
Non-Farm Payroll Jobs, percent change from June 2013 to June 2014
International Exports, percent change from 2012 to 2013:
Average Annual Wages, percent change from 2012 to 2013:
Housing Prices, percent change from Q1 2013 to Q1 2014:
