...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS EVENING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TOPEKA HAS ISSUED A WIND
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS EVENING.

* TIMING...SOUTH WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN ACROSS PARTS
OF NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS AND ACROSS ALL OF NORTHEAST AND EAST
CENTRAL KANSAS TODAY. THESE WINDS WILL BECOME STRONG AND GUSTY
BY LATE MORNING AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS BEFORE
DECREASING TOWARD SUNSET.

* WINDS...SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 45
MPH ARE EXPECTED.

* IMPACTS...THESE STRONG WINDS WILL MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT ON
EAST WEST HIGHWAYS...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. AREA LAKES AND
BOATERS WILL ALSO BE IMPACTED BY THE STRONG WINDS. FIRE DANGER
WILL BE VERY HIGH IN THE ADVISORY AREA AS WELL.

TAKE ACTION TO SECURE TRASH CANS...LAWN FURNITURE...AND OTHER
LOOSE OR LIGHTWEIGHT OUTDOOR OBJECTS.
