Wichita Could Tie Heat Record August 31st

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE)--Wichita could tie a hot weather record today.

The temperature is expected to climb above 100 today. That would mark the 50th day this summer the temperature has reached or exceeded 100 degrees. That would tie the record set in 1936.

Another 100 degree day is expected on Thursday.

Meteorologist Ben Pringle said a cool down is on the way with highs in the low 80s early next week.
