KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) _ A northeastern Kansas man has been
sentenced to more than five years in federal prison for buying
child pornography from a supplier in Italy.
The U.S. Attorney's office says 57-year-old Daniel Aldridge, of
Overland Park, was also fined $12,500 under the sentence he
received Tuesday. Aldridge pleaded guilty earlier to one count of
receiving child pornography.
The investigation began in 2007 when Interpol agents
investigated a suspected child porn ring in more than 30 countries.
U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom says investigators found Aldridge's
name among 50,000 emails between the Italian supplier and his
customers. Prosecutors say Aldridge ordered a half-dozen CD's
containing child porn from a postal inspector posing as a dealer.
