TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- US-24 in Topeka reopened to traffic Tuesday morning following a one-vehicle accident.
Roy Callahan, 67, of Topeka, was taken to the hospital after being ejected from his truck in the accident. The Kansas Highway Patrol crash log reports the rollover accident happened when Callahan over-corrected his pickup at about 4:20 a.m. Tuesday on US-24.
KHP reports Callahan was driving west on US-24 when his truck left the roadway on the north side, Callahan overcorrected, then the truck went into the median and rolled. The accident happened near Menoken Road.
Authorities shutdown the highway to about US-75.
Callahan was transported to Stormont-Vail HealthCare. It is not yet known the extent of the person's injuries.
Both lanes were closed for about two hours.
