TOPEKA, KAN. (WIBW)--The spice and culture of India was alive in the Gage Park Shelter House on August 27th, it was the 9th annual India Fest Celebration of Topeka. All proceeds raised from the festival benefit the Easter Seals Capper Foundation. India Fest has been a part of Topeka's culture since 2002 and each year serves a different organization.

Authentic dress and dance showcased India's culture and brought in hundreds of guests. Indian food dishes helped share the foreign culture for some Topekans who dined on choices of dosa, poori, chicken curry, bhel, aloo tikki, and chicken tandoori.

The India Association of Topeka is the founder of India Fest. The association’s stated goals are to support the community of Topeka by helping charitable organizations, to introduce Indian Culture to community members, and to show support to their community.
