Parents File Suit Over Man's Drug Death

O'FALLON, Mo. (AP) _ The St. Charles County daughter of a former Missouri lawmaker faces suit from the parents of a man who died after being injected with heroin and cocaine.

Kacie Kissell and two other defendants are named in the suit filed by Craig and Kelly Dodson in the 2005 death of 20-year-old Joshua Dodson.

Kissell was sentenced last year to eight years in prison for involuntary manslaughter and drug possession. She is the daughter of Don Kissell, a former state representative.

The mayor of O'Fallon cited delays in investigating Kacie Kissell as among the reasons for her decision to fire the city's longtime police chief, Steve Talbott. Talbott denied moving slowly in the investigation.
