LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) _ Lawrence officials say 14 couples went online and signed up for the city's domestic partner registry yesterday. They applied for the state's first registry that legally recognizes same-sex couples. The registry is open to people who can't marry in the state as well as those who choose not to.
