The Topeka Civitan Club is celebrating 50 years of community service.
The Topeka chapter of the Civitan International was chartered June 27, 1597.
The primary mission of the club us to support people with developmental disabilities and mental retardation.
Members of the Civitan actively serve the community, volunteering throughout the year and raising funds for local organization such as TARC, Sheltered Living, Casa and more.
The 50th celebration will be held Saturday, July 28th, at the Emerald Ballroom 4 at the Topeka Capitol Plaza Hotel beginning at 6 p.m.
Topeka Mayor Bill Bunten will join in on the celebration.
