Lawrence, Kan. (AP) - The University of Kansas is raising the penalty for students illegally downloading music and movies in student housing.

School officials said they'll deactivate student access to the ResNet Network in the dorms if Kansas is alerted of a copyright violation and an appeal is denied.

The new policy is zero-tolerance, replacing the previous three-strikes system.
