WIBW Wins KAB Station Of The Year, AP Awards
WIBW has won the Kansas Association of Broadcasters "Station of the Year" award. The station also brought home several other first-place awards, as well as several second and third place finishes. It also was named the best newscast by the Associated Press.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) Topeka-based WIBW has won the Kansas Association of Broadcasters "Station of the Year" award. The station also brought home several other first-place awards, as well as several second and third place finishes. It also was named the best newscast by the Associated Press.
Both its prime-time and morning shows won their respective categories; weather, too, brought home the gold. The 13 Sports Team finished second in both the KAB and AP competitions
WIBW's live anniversary coverage of the Chapman, Manhattan, and Soldier Tornado won for best coverage of a single news topics event. Its "A Hero Comes Home" segment won the AP's best enterprise award.
Its AAA "Severe Storm Damage" commercial series won second-place honors, while the promotions department won two seconds and a third-place finish. The Web site finished second.
