TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Kansas Lottery is chipping in to help veterans' causes.

Lottery officials and the Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs showed off some of the results of the efforts Tuesday in an appearance at the American Legion post at 3800 SE Michigan.

Proceeds from the veteran's instant scratch game tickets paid for a Veterans Enhanced Service Delivery van, which people could get an up-close look at Tuesday.

Several other causes benefit, too. Kansas National Guard scholarships see 40 percent of the proceeds. Another 30 percent goes to the veterans homes in Winfield and Fort Dodge.

Over the past 11 years the tickets have been sold, the lottery has generated $10.2 million for veterans' programs.
