(WIBW) - The National Guard Bureau wants to know if people have any concerns about new air refueling tankers being housed at Topeka's Forbes Field.
While Pease Air Guard Base in New Jersey was chosen for the mission, Forbes was among the five finalists. The Guard is preparing environmental impact statements for all the locations so that, if a problem turns up with Pease, they can move quickly with a backup location.
The public hearing for Forbes is from 6 to 9 pm Thursday at the Museum of the Kansas National Guard, 6700 SW Topeka Blvd.
McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita was the active-duty base selected to house the KC-46As.
