TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Gov. Sam Brownback announced a significant national achievement Monday for the Kansas Division of Emergency Management.
The Kansas Division of Emergency Management is now accredited by the Emergency Management Accreditation Program. The Governor said the process took more than a year of work and dedication. KDEM had to demonstrate compliance with 104 standards to attain accreditation.
Brownback was joined by Maj. Gen. Lee Tafanelli, the state's Adjutant General and director of Division of Emergency Management, along with members of the KDEM staff to present the award.
