Injured Soldier Battling Pneumonia

(WIBW) - A Ft. Riley soldier's spine surgery has been delayed by pneumonia.

Sgt. Jamie Jarboe was shot April 10 by a sniper in Afghanistan. He's currently at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

His wife, Melissa Jarboe, reports on their Facebook group, "Prayers for Sgt Jamie Jarboe," that her husband did undergo surgery Monday to move a feeding tube. However, a surgery to fuse his spine was put off due to pneumonia. She writes that his fever was down Monday, though.

Jarboe is stationed at Ft. Riley. He is from Indiana, but he and his wife have lived in the Topeka area for about a year.
