FORT RILEY, Kan. (WIBW) - A group of Fort Riley soldiers have returned home from helping the clean-up efforts in Moore, Oklahoma.
The soldiers made the five hour drive to Moore over the Memorial Day weekend, hoping to help with clean up from an EF-5 tornado.
They spent several days digging through the ruins, looking for everything from fine china to family photographs.
Maj. Gen. Paul Funk recognized the soldiers for their hard work and devotion last week, saying they set an example for their nation and their community.
