Fort Riley Victory Week to Celebrate "Big Red One" Soldiers

FORT RILEY, Kan. – Fort Riley is set to kick off Victory Week later this month. The annual week-long celebration honors the division’s history of service and the various roles Big Red One Soldiers have played in our nation’s history since World War I.

Festivities begin with a carnival that runs June 7-10. The band Daughtry will perform a free concert for Department of Defense cardholders and their guests on June 10.

On Monday, June 11, Soldiers will participate in Victory Run, a division-wide run that starts a week of athletic competitions and ceremonies on post. Victory Week also celebrates the 1st Infantry Division and Army birthdays. This year marks the 95th birthday for the Big Red One and 237th for the U.S. Army.

The public is encouraged to visit Fort Riley during Victory Week.
