Fort Riley Marina to Have Grand Opening Ceremony

FORT RILEY, Kan. – Fort Riley officials will have a grand opening ceremony for the Fort Riley Marina on May 2 on the north side of Milford Lake, located off Highway 82.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 11:30 a.m. at the entrance of the marina's main boat dock.

Grand opening activities are planned from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. including free pontoon rides, canoe and kayak use, inflatables and a treasure hunt for children. Tethered hot air balloon rides are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m.

Educators from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks will provide boating safety information and the Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Riley Outdoor Recreation and local recreational vendors also will be on site.

The marina will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 2.
