New Post Exchange to Have Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

FORT RILEY - A ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the new Army Air Force Exchange Service Post Exchange at Fort Riley will be at 9 a.m. Feb. 13 at the new location on Trooper Drive at Camp Forsyth.

The celebration will highlight the $24 million facility aimed at improving the quality of life for Soldiers and their Families on the installation, said Stan Young, AAFES general manager, Fort Riley and McConnell Air Force Base.

"By AAFES completing this store, it has taken Fort Riley one more step toward completing the Army Family Covenant," said Young. "This is AAFES' way of showing its commitment to that program and providing great support toward Soldiers and Families of Fort Riley."

The 132,000-square foot facility will offer clothing and electronics, as well as five restaurants, a Starbucks, pharmacy, spa with massage therapy and a barber shop.

In addition to the ceremony, the 1st Infantry Division Band's Brass Quintet will perform and Soldiers with the 1st Inf. Div. Commanding General's Mounted Color Guard, 97th Military Police Battalion's K-9 Unit and 1st Brigade will provide static displays in the PX parking lot.
