Kansas Guard to Collect School Supplies for Afghanistan, Iraqi Children

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas National Guard is teaming up with a Manhattan, Kan. organization to collect school supplies for Afghanistan and Iraqi children.

Governor Kathleen Sebelius (D-Kan.) and Maj. Gen. Tod Bunting, Kansas Adjutant General, helped kick off the campaign Friday to collect school supplies which Kansas troops will later hand out to children in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The group, called Help Us Learn... Give Us Hope, asks for donated school supplies or cash for supplies. Visit www.helpuslearngiveushope.org.
