TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - Governor Sebelius spent time earlier this week chatting with a group of soldiers from Fort Riley who are deployed to Iraq.
The governor visited by video teleconference with about 45 soldiers from the 1st Sustainment Brigade stationed at Camp Taji, Iraq.
It was the first such arrangement Sebelius has had where she talked with soldiers, though she has made several trips to Iraq and Kosovo.
Col. Kevin O'Connell with the brigade asked Sebelius to have the conversation with his soldiers, who have been deployed for 11 months.
There are approximately 3,000 Fort Riley soldiers deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
