Topeka- Kansas National Guard soldiers have a new commander as of this weekend.
A change of command ceremony was held at the museum of the Kansas National Guard at Forbes Field Sunday.
After nine years Brigadier General Jonathan Small is retiring and is handing over his command to Brigadier General John Davoren.
Brigadier General Small has received numerous military awards to include the meritorious service medal and the army commendation medal.
