FORT RILEY, Kan. – Fort Riley will host the 2008 Combatives Tournament at 9 a.m. July 24-25 at the Combatives Training Center on Custer Hill, building 77670.
Soldiers will use the “Modern Army Combatives” which includes punching, kicking and defensive strategies. The tournament will span various weight classes ranging from flyweight to heavyweight and include both males and females.
Medals will be awarded for first, second and third place in each weight class. The finals are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. July 25. The top two finalists in each weight class will compete in the All-Army Tournament at Fort Benning, Ga., later this year.
