Army Field Support Battalion to Change Command

FORT RILEY, Kan. - The leadership of the 3rd Battalion, 407th Army Field Support Brigade will be handed over during a ceremony at 9 a.m. July 24 at King Field House on Fort Riley.

After commanding the support battalion for 26 months, Lt. Col. Shannon G. Pool will pass the unit colors to Lt. Col. Thomas “Andy” Parker.

Pool has commanded the Field Spt. Bn. since April 2007. In July, he will be reassigned to the 1st Infantry Division staff.

Parker comes to the Field Spt. Bn. from 166th Aviation Brigade (formerly known as the 3rd Battalion, 75th Training Support Brigade), Fort Riley where he deployed as the Deputy Commander, U.S. National Command Element, Combined Joint Task Force-82 in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
