Fort Riley could soon be in line for a new leader. The post's Commanding General has been nominated for a post at the Pentagon and his third star.

Secretary of Defense Robert Gates nominated Major General Robert Durbin on Friday to be special assistant to the Army Chief of Staff for enterprise management.

Durbin has been at Fort Riley for a little more than a year. He replaced Lt. Gen. Carter Ham, who was nominated Friday for his fourth star.
