Ft. Riley - 150 Fort Riley soldiers were just a few weeks away from having a three month shorter deployment to Iraq.
Friends and family of the 300th Military Police Company participated in a deployment ceremony Wednesday at Ft. Riley.
The soldiers are expected to serve in Iraq for 15 months.
In April, President Bush announced that soldiers deploying August First or later will serve 12 month deployments.
Soldiers' families say it's tough to know they are so close to August 1st.
During their tour, the soldiers will help train and develop the Iraqi Police Force.
