More than 450 troops returned to Fort Riley Thursday in two separate return ceremonies. Some had not seen their family in 15-months.
This comes on the heels of President Bush's announcement that troops will no longer stay 15 months in Iraq -- 12 at the most, with at least that long between deployments.
Troops said that was ideal. Even though it is only three months, it is three months they can spend with their families, three months they can let their batteries recharges, mentally and physically.
