Kansas Soldier Honored and Laid to Rest

A Kansas soldier is laid to rest and posthumously promoted.

30-year-old staff Sergeant Bryant Mackey died February 20th in Iraq when a rocket-propelled grenade hit his vehicle.

Mourners packed his funeral service in Fredonia. While outside the patriot guard held flags along the driveway.

During the service Mackey was honored with three medals. The purple heart, Bronze star and Meritorious service medal.

Mackey was married with two sons and a daughter.
