Mo's Express Owner Reported Missing

Corey Brown

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - 13 News has learned the owner of a Topeka convenience store where two workers were shot has been reported missing.

Topeka Police will only confirm they are working a missing persons case involving someone associated with the business at Southeast 15th and Adams.

13 News spoke with the mother of owner 39-year old Corey Brown. She tells us her son was last heard from Tuesday afternoon. She says his truck was found, but she has been given no other information.

Employees say it's another blow in what's been a difficult past couple months. In November, two clerks were shot and critically wounded during a holdup at Mo's Express in November. On Christmas Eve, a worker at the neighboring liquor store, 41-year-old Matthew Hill, was shot and killed.

Police made an arrest in the murder, but the suspect in the November shooting remains at large.
