TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - High school students took time to plan for their futures Thursday.
The Kansas Youth Empowerment Academy brings together high schoolers with disabilities for a week of fun and career-driven activities.
Thursday's activities included a luncheon with mentors, including 13's Drew Switzer and J.B. Bauersfeld, who met with students to discuss career goals.
The entire week is designed to empower participants so they can be successful in work and as advocates in their communities in their adults lives.
The week of activities also includes some fun, including a dance and a Statehouse tour.
