TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Young entrepreneurs woke up early Tuesday to learn a new lesson.
Students gathered at the Ramada Hotel and Convention Center in downtown Topeka for the Youth Entrepreneurs Kansas "Business for Breakfast" event.
The featured guests were the three founders of Topeka's Advisors Excel, who shared their recipe for success. They say the keys to growing their insurance brokerage company lie in leadership and effective marketing skills.
Co-founder Dave Callanan said they started with no employees eight years ago to nearly 200 today. He said it would be wonderful if the students could take what they learned Tuesday and use it in fostering their own successes.
The YEK organization partners with businesses and mentors to help high schoolers learn the fundamentals of launching a business.
WIBW-TV sponsored Tuesday's event.
