TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW)__ Before you litter, think of all the sea creatures that could be affected.
The Topeka Zoo hosted World Oceans Day Saturday. Attendees got the chance to learn all about sea life and how to take care of it.
Zoo officials told us that even though we live in a land locked state, our trash could end up in the ocean and in the stomach of its creatures.
They also taught Topekans about what types of seafood to avoid when dining out. That crab may look tasty on the menu, but there is more to the price than what is on your bill.
Kids and families enjoyed a scavenger hunt and different exhibits on display. There was even an interactive sea shell identification exhibit and live stingrays and crabs for viewing .
