MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Riley County Police Department is investigating a forcible rape after a 25-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted by a male acquaintance while on a date.
RCPD is releasing few details on the case but Lieutenant Josh Kyle, a department spokesman, says the victim told police that it happened sometime around May 18, 2012. It was reported to authorities on May 24, 2012.
Kyle would only say that the alleged assault happened at a residence in the southeastern portion of Manhattan.
Police officials told reporters Friday that a suspect has been named in the case but an arrest has not yet been made. The investigation is active and ongoing, according to Lieutenant Kyle.
