(WIBW) - A former Topeka resident has dropped a lawsuit against local authorities which claimed they wasted millions of dollars running an investigation on her.
Cheryl Fields, who now lives in Kenosha, Wisconsin, filed a motion July 31st to dismiss the suit, stating she no longer wished to pursue the matter.
Fields filed the lawsuit July 22nd. She claimed the Topeka Police Department and Shawnee County Sheriff's office had spent about $30 million running an investigation on her. Fields said it began after she filed a complaint with the police department in 2009.
Fields was seeking $275,000 in damages.
