A Wichita man has pleaded guilty to a bank robbery charge, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said Thursday.
Marcus D. Bishop, 34, Wichita, Kan., pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting bank robbery. In his plea, he admitted that in August 2011 he and others discussed robbing the Sunflower Bank at 2073 North Webb Road in Wichita. On Aug. 11, 2011, he drove himself and two other men to the bank. One of the men, Willie J. Jackson, went inside the bank and robbed it. Jackson got back in the car and Bishop drove the men to a pre-arranged location where they switched cars. They were arrested later that day.
Bishop is set for sentencing June 4. He faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.
Co-defendants include:
Willie J. Jackson, who is set for sentencing May 31.
Sergio R. Little, who is set for a change of plea hearing March 20.
Tanina Renee Anderson, who is set for sentencing April 23.
Grissom commended the FBI and Assistant U.S. Attorney Alan Metzger for their work on the case.
